Royal Plates Analysis Chart
The chart shown below analyses the value of the Index SEx (Exclusive index based on the aristocratic position of the owners of horses which win Royal Plates) against SIn (Inclusive index of aristocratic standing of all owners of horses entered in Royal Plates). The chart is divided into 9 distinct regions, with proposals given as to why an index is any region at the end of any given year. |

| The SEx index:- It is to be expected that this index will be high in the early years of the Royal Palaces at Newmarket because entries in the early Royal Plates were traditionally from Royals, Dukes , Earls and Lords. However, over the period of the 3 Royal Palaces in Newmarket, entries from the higher echelons of the aristocracy decreased while entries from Lords, Sirs, Colonels, Captains and Commoners increased. There will be peaks when a particular Duke or Earl has a very good horse which dominates Royal Plates for a 2 year period, and there will br troughs during lean times for the upper classes. |
| The SIn index:-It is expected that this index will be high at the start of the time of Newmarket's Royal Palaces, when entries are high from the upper echelons of society, but will decrease as their entries decrease and entries, especially from Commoners, increase. |
| Region A:-High win rate by Royals, Dukes and Earls; Large entries from Commoners (This is unlikely to ever occur) |
| Region B:- High win rate by upper echelons of society; High entry from all aristocratic groups (Much more likely to occur once the dominance of Royals, Dukes & Earls recedes) |
| Region C:- High win rates and entries by Royals, Dukes and Earls (Very likely to occur in the early days of the Royal Palaces in Newmarket when Royal Plates were dominated by the upper echelons of society) |
| Region D:- High win rate by middle ranking aristocratic groups, with high entry rate by Commoners |
| Region E:-Wins and entries spread across all levels of society. |
| Region F:- High win rate by middle ranking aristocrats and Commoners despite high entries by upper echelons of society |
| Region G:-High win rates and entries by Sirs, Colonels, Captains and Commoners |
| Region H:-High win rates of Commoners despite high entries by middle ranking aristocratic groups |
| Region I:-High win rate by Commoners despite high number of entries by upper echelons of society. (Unlikely to occur in practice) |
